Mrs. Marissa Escobar Curriculum Coordinator

Marissa Escobar

Instructional Facilitator, College Hill Elementary

My name is Marissa Escobar and I am the Instructional Facilitator at College Hill Elementary School. I graduated from Atlanta High School in 2005 and continued my education at Texarkana College, where I obtained an Associate's Degree in Art. I went on to further my education at Texas A&M University, Texarkana, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I completed an internship with the Texarkana Independent School District (TISD) at Westlawn Elementary School where I taught fourth grade. I began my teaching career in the fall of 2009 as a kindergarten teacher at Spring Lake Park Elementary School. I taught kindergarten for two years while attending school and working towards my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in Reading. I graduated in December of 2011 with this degree. I utilized these reading instruction skills as a fourth grade reading teacher for two years, before transitioning to being an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for TISD on four different elementary school campuses, including Nash Elementary, Paul Laurence Dunbar Early Education Center, Theron Jones Early Literacy Center, and Westlawn Elementary School. After being an ESL teacher for three years, I am excited to take on the role of Instructional Facilitator. I look forward to sharing my passion for education with other teachers and helping them become the very best educator possible. I enjoy sharing valuable resources and tools with others and am excited to reach many children by impacting the teachers who touch their lives on a daily basis. I love the Texarkana Arkansas School District and am proud to be a Razorback!

My husband and I are Arkansas residents, along with our three year old daughter, Maebry Belle. We enjoy spending time together as a family, traveling, and attending church.
